dearmond_coupon*Check out this beautiful DeArmond Guitar! A unique and special guitar. Harry DeArmond invented the first commercially available attachable guitar pickup sometime in the 1930’s.. To market his invention he teamed up with Horace ‘Bud’ Rowe’s Company, which was located in Toledo Ohio. It was there Rowe/DeArmond pickups, effects and amplifiers were manufactured.

*To promote the sensitivity of his pickups, Harry DeArmond developed a tapping technique, sometimes playing two guitars simultaneously. This method was later adopted by Jimmy Webster, Gretsch‘s designer and endorser, and popularized forty years later by players such as Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen.

1985 : It’s no joke: David Lee Roth officially leaves Van Halen to start a solo career.

http://calendar.songfacts.com/events/April/1/”

Did you know this! Crazy! And on April Fools Day! David Lee Roth started his solo career and left Van Halen on April 1st, 1985 only to rejoin the group in 2006.

Roth released Crazy from the Heat, a popular solo EP of off-beat standards. Singles for “California Girls” and “Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody” succeeded largely due to their innovative music videos (produced by Jerry Kramer and co-produced by Glenn Goodwin and Bobby Diebold), which featured ridiculous characters created by Roth and his Creative Chief Director, Pete Angelus, who’d previously directed Van Halen’s Roth-era videos. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Lee_Roth
