As we take a closer look at the music that is all around us, we thought it would be very cool to get a closer connection with all the fabulous women that support our local musicians and feed the music industry! The moms, wives, girlfriends, rockers and even the besties! The fact is, is that there is a strong influence by today’s women in the music industry. And more and more women are starting bands, producing music, engineering and hold a strong suit when it comes to rocking out.

There are many legends in the day that we could name including Joan Jett, Janis Joplin, Pat Benatar, Joni Mitchell… the list goes on and on. But we know about all of them… We want to know more about you!

1985 : It’s no joke: David Lee Roth officially leaves Van Halen to start a solo career.

http://calendar.songfacts.com/events/April/1/”

Did you know this! Crazy! And on April Fools Day! David Lee Roth started his solo career and left Van Halen on April 1st, 1985 only to rejoin the group in 2006.

Roth released Crazy from the Heat, a popular solo EP of off-beat standards. Singles for “California Girls” and “Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody” succeeded largely due to their innovative music videos (produced by Jerry Kramer and co-produced by Glenn Goodwin and Bobby Diebold), which featured ridiculous characters created by Roth and his Creative Chief Director, Pete Angelus, who’d previously directed Van Halen’s Roth-era videos. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Lee_Roth

Movie Wonder Boys

Wonder Boys makes an impression on the movie industry as well as the music industry

No matter how you look at it, Bob Dylan has won the hearts of America through years of devotion to the music industry and his passions for song. The artist even has made a difference in the movie industry when in 2001, Bob Dylan won the Best Original Song Academy Award for Things Have Changed from the movie Wonder Boys.

“The movie is about an English Professor trying to deal with his wife leaving him, the arrival of his editor who has been waiting for his book for seven years, and the various problems that his friends and associates involve him in.” IMDb
