The Nevada County Region is a major hub for the Northern California Music Industry. And for some, it’s the Capitol for Northern California Music. As SoundCheck Music has seen in its workings as a local music shop for the past several years. Their involvement to promote local events and musicians is prominent in the community. They are always looking for different ways to get involved, promote, donate towards or sponsor the music scene. NCMA Logo2

Andy Gonzalez, Owner of Point West Promotions and New Co-Founder of the NCMA; Nevada County Musicians Association, recently visited SoundCheck Music’s Downtown location. He had high hopes that SoundCheck would be able to help promote their upcoming event, the Nevada County Musicians Mixer. SoundCheck did even better, they decided to become an Official Sponsor for the Nevada County Musicians Association. By becoming a sponsor, SoundCheck will be offering gifts for the raffles held at these mixers, promote each event, be a hub for musicians all over the region and spark the music scene with their unique inventory and offer a Year Round 10% Discount to all of the NCMA Members.

74730_10150814071969919_1481420553_n“It just seems like the right thing to do” says Bill Lapham, Owner of SoundCheck and Lead in the local band, Rio Mojo, a Blues Cover Band which performs often in the region. “There are lots of really great musicians and bands in this area, we like to do our part to help support the local working musicians.”

Nevada County Musicians Association will host their first monthly Musicians Mixer at the Holbrooke Hotel on October 21st, 2014 in Grass Valley, California. The event promises to offer educational resources, booking opportunities, networking solutions and even a presentation by On the Bus Productions, another promotional company working with musicians and venues in the Placer County Region. The event will be serving free appetizers and offering a No-Host Bar to anyone who attends. Musicians, Booking Agents, Producers, Studio Reps, Stage Hands, Engineers and even Venue Owners are encouraged to attend.

“Pretty much anyone who is anyone in the local music scene should be there.” -Corrie Vallance; Owner of On the Bus Productions and the New Marketing Director of NCMA. “Our goal is to organize an exceptional networking solution for each and every person out there that works with the local music scene. We’re hoping this opens a lot of opportunities for everyone involved” There may be some connections already being made as Corrie Vallance has also been the Marketing Director for SoundCheck Music Center in Grass Valley for the past couple years and frequently works at their Downtown location. Corrie says, “Sometimes it just takes talking to anyone and everyone about your dreams. Eventually someone is bound to get on board and help out. ”

The Nevada County Musicians Association Administrative Team consists of Co-Founder – Andy Gonzalez; Owner of Point West Promotions; Co-Founder – Jamal Walker; Owner of My Way Productions and Marketing Director – Corrie Vallance; Owner of On the Bus Productions. SoundCheck Music Center partnered with On the Bus Productions to Sponsor the “GiveTeensMusic” Community Drive. The drive is asking for Donations of Instruments for the Music Department at Park Avenue High School in Grass Valley. Greg Zaller and recently awarded, “Principal of the Year”, Marty Mathiesen are determined to get the Music Department up and playing by end of year. This Project needs your support!
